Errors

OpenBook uses conventional HTTP response codes to indicate the status of a request. Here are sample errors you may run into and what they mean.

400 Bad Request

We are unable to process the request. Read the message included in the response body for additional details. This could be because of invalid data passed in the body of the request.

401 Unauthorized

This error is likely caused by a missing, expired, or invalid authentication token. Consult our documentation on Authentication.

403 Forbidden

You are not allowed to view or edit this resource. Read the message included in the response body for additional details. This could be because you are trying to edit an existing payment instead of reversing the payment.

404 Not Found

The resource was not found. Consult our list of Endpoints and make sure that you are using a documented endpoint.

5xx Unexpected Error

An unexpected error occurred. Read the message included in the response body for additional details.
